Summer Series: Must Doâs In My State, California Pt.1!
Because California is so big I have two authors that have given their Must Do’s! This will be part 1 and next Friday part 2. Top Things to Do in California by Laura Jafarkhani Author of Lala To Mama California is an amazing state! It is one of the largest in the United States with plenty to do and see all over. I have split it into Northern and Southern California since often these can be separate trips with how much there is to do! It is not possible to include everything, but these are some of my top recommendations. Southern California This is where I live!…
Summer Series: Must Doâs In My State, Michigan!
Thank you to Becca from Mom Cave for giving her Must Do’s for Michigan. I have been to Battle Creek in the winter and let me tell y’all that is the coldest I have ever been in my life! Michigan is gorgeous however and hope that you find inspiration from a native. I am from Michigan and honestly, the things that I love about Michigan are not necessarily what others will recommend but here you go. I think that our greatest treasure is the Upper Peninsula. It is beautiful and unpopulated. But be warned, cell service is spotty at best. Visit the ghost town at Fayette State Park in the…

Hey yâall, Iâm Beth from Alabama and Iâm here to tell you…itâs not what you think.  Go ahead. Think about every stereotype youâve ever heard or assumed about Alabamians. We talk slow, love sweet tea, say funny things like âyâallâ and  âbless your heart.â You might even assume a few of us are what you call ârednecksâ down here. Guess what? Youâre right about everything! But…give us a chance. Thereâs more going on down here than you think! Some of the links below are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase. From the rolling hills…
Iâll Fly Away, Live
I was a couple of months pregnant here and my daddy was visiting us in Colorado. We recorded a few live videos and I am forever thankful I will always have this memory with him. For all my lovers of old Southern Gospel, this is for you!
Summer Series: Must Do In My State, Virginia PT I!
I am dipping my toes into new waters and collaborating with numerous bloggers from around the world! This will be a summer long series and I will have a new city, state, and country to share weekly for you to enjoy and plan your trips. I personally love to travel and have trips booked out for two years already. I constantly scour Pinterest and Tripadvisor for where to go and what to do so I thought why not get the To Do’s from people that live there! I hope you find great inspiration from this series and thank you to everyone that has contributed to this. This post may contain…
Ain’t No Sunshine
I have no idea when I recorded this and if I had to guess I would say 13 years ago. This is a one take session and there are some imperfections, but I love this song! Of course it has been modified from the original by Bill Withers, whom I adore! Hope y’all enjoy!
The Starlight Express
This was my uncles Jimmy and Tommy’s first TV appearance with their band. Be ready to step back in time of big hair and tight jeans! Freddy Fender, Starlight Express and The Diamonds | Live at Church Street Station
Overexposed
When someone says the word overexposed I think of film, a bad picture. The film was exposed to too much of something that made it bad. Do we live in a world that is overexposed? With so many social media outlets news of the world travels much faster than when I was little. Instead of the five o clock news or major headlines in the Sunday paper, we now know of happenings within minutes of the event. We are constantly inundated with the good, the bad and the ugly. What are we doing to ourselves mentally by being that advanced in the know? I once read a book on plants…
Terrible Two’s Or Unrealistic Expectations?
Ahh Terrible Twoâs what every parent dreads. Just kidding that is when they are teenagers right? I personally donât believe in terrible twoâs. I believe that adults have unrealistic expectations how they think a child should act and the adultâs response is what magnifies the childâs terrible behavior. I read a piece recently by Dr. Laura Markham recently on discipline vs. teaching and it was a real eye opener for me. I am a soft one on disciplining Cooper and I may or may not let him get away with more than he should. He is two however and I am realistic in his understanding of how things should and…
