The Summer My Gen Alpha Got To Experience Summer As A Gen X’er!

I was truly nervous this year as the pandemic virtually shut down any summer vacation plans for our family. My little one is three and we had “big plans” that included a trip overseas. That all came to a screeching halt in March however due to COVID and lock-downs. I literally panicked as what in the world is going to keep my little one busy all summer with no friends, no travel, nothing! I had to take a deep breath and think back to my childhood. There were no big trips and elaborate vacations. My summers were full of riding our bikes until the street lights came on. Playing in…

    A Weekend In Hendersonville NC

In December we decided to do a weekend trip sans toddler to Hendersonville, NC. Hendersonville is a city just outside of Asheville. Hendersonville is a quaint little town (okay second largest in Western Carolina) and has officially made it to the list of my Top 10 towns I love! We stayed at The Charleston Inn, an adorable B&B, within walking distance of town. We were visiting The Biltmore for the candlelight Christmas tour, but wanted to be further away from Asheville. Don’t get me wrong I love Asheville with all my soul, but the change of scenery was needed. After our 3 hour drive to get to Hendersonville we stopped…

D Is For Holiday’s! Wait, What?

Dysfunctional: a : not functioning properly : marked by impaired or abnormal functioning b : characterized by abnormal or unhealthy interpersonal behavior or interaction Since the 1980’s the word dysfunctional has been used to describe family dynamics. Talk show hosts paraded family members on screen for entertainment and the more obnoxious the better. With the holiday’s fast approaching I see many people talking about their family and using the word dysfunctional. I used to look at people and think wow they really have it together and their home must be amazing! Then they start telling me stories and I sit back and think holy smokes my family almost seems normal,…

Summer Series: Must Do In My State, Colorado!

Colorado, one of the greatest vacation destinations in the world! We had the pleasure of living there for four years and we loved every minute of it! We moved back to the East Coast last year so our little one could grow up with family but will definitely take him back to his birthplace and let him enjoy some of the great things we did while there. So there are the typical things that are a must do, but there is so much that is overlooked if you aren’t a local. This list combines the local spots as well as the touristy but in my mind are amazing and totally…

Summer Series: Must Do’s In My State, California Pt 2!

Sacramento, the capital of California, is not a common vacation spot. When people think of California, they imagine Los Angeles, San Francisco or Napa Valley. Growing up in the Sacramento suburbs I never thought of my hometown as a travel destination. Why would someone want to visit this area? However, as the saying goes, distance makes the heart grow founder. Now that I’ve moved out of the area I can see why Sacramento is a great place for a vacation. Here’s my top reasons to visit Sac Town. By Kristen Kehl of Hello Minder Food. Sacramento is known as America’s Farm to Fork Capitol. Hundreds of acres of farm land…

Summer Series: Must Do’s In My State, California Pt.1!

Because California is so big I have two authors that have given their Must Do’s! This will be part 1 and next Friday part 2. Top Things to Do in California   by Laura Jafarkhani Author of Lala To Mama   California is an amazing state! It is one of the largest in the United States with plenty to do and see all over. I have split it into Northern and Southern California since often these can be separate trips with how much there is to do! It is not possible to include everything, but these are some of my top recommendations.   Southern California This is where I live!…

Summer Series: Must Do’s In My State, Alabama!

Hey y’all, I’m Beth from Alabama and I’m here to tell you…it’s not what you think.  Go ahead. Think about every stereotype you’ve ever heard or assumed about Alabamians. We talk slow, love sweet tea, say funny things like “y’all” and  “bless your heart.” You might even assume a few of us are what you call “rednecks” down here. Guess what? You’re right about everything! But…give us a chance. There’s more going on down here than you think! Some of the links below are affiliate links, meaning, at no additional cost to you, I will earn a commission if you click through and make a purchase. From the rolling hills…

I am dipping my toes into new waters and collaborating with numerous bloggers from around the world! This will be a summer long series and I will have a new city, state, and country to share weekly for you to enjoy and plan your trips. I personally love to travel and have trips booked out for two years already. I constantly scour Pinterest and Tripadvisor for where to go and what to do so I thought why not get the To Do’s from people that live there! I hope you find great inspiration from this series and thank you to everyone that has contributed to this. This post may contain…

Hey y’all! I know it has been a while since I have written anything but we had a death in the family and I had to travel to North Carolina. It has been hectic to say the least but I am back home now and can play catch-up. So last time I wrote about traveling with Cooper he was tiny yet and I was able to use our Bob stroller as well as his Britax carrier car seat. Well he isn’t lil anymore so things changed. It was only he and myself traveling so I had to get a wee bit creative with luggage, car seats etc. I am no…
