5-Minute Banana, Blueberry + Avocado Puree

    07/10 /No Comments

5-MINUTE BANANA, BLUEBERRY + AVOCADO BABY PUREE   Such a simple puree that is packed with goodness! Avocado’s were some of the first foods I introduced to my little one and mixed with his favorites, this is a definite treat. INGREDIENTS: 1 cup blueberries, if using frozen thaw first 1 banana 1/2 avocado, peeled 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice INSTRUCTIONS Place all of the ingredients into a blender and process for 1-2 minutes on high speed, scrapping down sides every 30 seconds helps puree the blueberry peels. Top Parenting Questions Googled

    01/10 /No Comments

They say parenting doesn’t come with a handbook and I am going to disagree. While it isn’t in handbook form, Google has become my go to when I have questions. Now I know you can’t rely on everything you read but other mama’s like myself have shared their experiences and after reading many scenarios I usually take a bit of each. Here are a few key things that I have searched in the past 18 months and have been asked by other parents. Remember none of this is biblical and should always be discussed with your doctor! Question: When can a baby sleep with a blanket? Answer: By the time your child…

    Have Baby Will Travel III

    03/20 /2 Comments

Hey y’all! I know it has been a while since I have written anything but we had a death in the family and I had to travel to North Carolina. It has been hectic to say the least but I am back home now and can play catch-up. So last time I wrote about traveling with Cooper he was tiny yet and I was able to use our Bob stroller as well as his Britax carrier car seat. Well he isn’t lil anymore so things changed. It was only he and myself traveling so I had to get a wee bit creative with luggage, car seats etc. I am no…

Teething Nightmare! It Really Is A Thing!

    10/18 /2 Comments

So I am going to go ahead and poo poo on the naysayers that say teething stories are made out to be worse than they are! They have no clue and it isn’t just hype! My lil man started teething what seemed to be around four months. His first tooth erupted at seven months and now his second is coming in a month later. I have been bit, dealt with swollen gums and flushed cheeks, him not sleeping and severe irritability due to discomfort of his mouth. He is normally a super happy baby but when the teeth are flaring he lets it be known! So things I have done…

God Why Does Everyone Else Get A Baby?

    08/08 /No Comments

Since writing about my Rainbow Baby I have had several women reach out and thank me for sharing my story. Some have lost as well and are having a tough time dealing and discovered the strength to share their story with me. Others have not conceived and have talked with me how heart wrenching it is and I cry with them because that is all we need sometimes. To all of the women in both scenarios I understand. I too asked God on several occasions Why Does Everyone Else Get A Baby? What is wrong with me? The doctors could never give us answers why we couldn’t conceive and it…

    Sleep! What is that again!

    07/28 /2 Comments

Seems to be the most mentioned topic in any conversation for new parents. I can’t begin to tell you how many times I have heard “How is the baby sleeping? How are you sleeping?”. It is understandable I suppose since generally new parents forget what sleep really is and appear to look like zombies for the first few, well I will have to get back to you on how long this lasts. I have now read five books, more blogs and forums than you can shake a stick at and discovered there are more methods to get your baby to sleep than Carter has liver pills! It is mind blowing…

    Sex After Baby

    07/17 /5 Comments

Not sure about you but sex was the last thing on my mind! New baby, no sleep, your body is in full recovery mode and well I just didn’t feel sexy at all. Note: you need to be cleared by your doctor prior which is normally four to six weeks after delivery. On top of that  “Nursing releases oxytocin, a hormone that triggers good feelings toward the baby but also suppresses your libido,” says Dr. Booth.  “Anthropologically speaking, keeping your sex drive low is your body’s way of preventing another pregnancy too soon. Patients are always relieved to find out there’s a reason they’re not as into sex.”   Some women…

    Exercise After Baby!

    07/12 /No Comments

So I rode my bike yesterday and ran for the first time today. I accomplished two miles running and though it took me 21 minutes I feel great! I use Runtastic  to keep log of all of my activities and you can view my run to see what it looks like. I learned a couple of things while I am getting back to exercising. No matter how many kegel’s you do your bladder control is ummm well, you tinkle yourself. No other way to say it than to throw it out there! I have great running shorts by Nike and I put a pad in them to absorb what I can’t…
