    Exercise After Baby!

    07/12 /No Comments

So I rode my bike yesterday and ran for the first time today. I accomplished two miles running and though it took me 21 minutes I feel great! I use Runtastic  to keep log of all of my activities and you can view my run to see what it looks like. I learned a couple of things while I am getting back to exercising. No matter how many kegel’s you do your bladder control is ummm well, you tinkle yourself. No other way to say it than to throw it out there! I have great running shorts by Nike and I put a pad in them to absorb what I can’t…

    Milk Reduction When Period Returns

    07/11 /No Comments

Ugh your monthly aunt Flow returns! As if delivering a human, having leaky boobs and no sleep weren’t enough. You begin to wonder if you will ever catch a break! Eleven months of no visits from aunt Flow was amazing and I did not miss her one bit! Some women will not get a visit the entire time they are breastfeeding, lucky them! I was two months post-delivery when she returned. So how do you combat milk reduction while she visits? Here are a few pointers: Cal-Mag Supplements Just before your period starts, your blood calcium levels drop, causing your milk supply to drop. To combat this, you can take…

    Postpartum What?

    07/10 /No Comments

Okay ladies and gents it is a topic no one wants to talk about but it is a fact of life and it happens. If you have been following my posts you will know we are now home with our lil one and attempting to adjust. Of course we were both sick when we came home but that passed after the first week or so. Around week two is when the real fun begins! See I am by nature OCD. I am a counter (literally have numbers running in my mind all day) and things have to be a certain way or in my mind the world is pre-apocalyptic. So…

    Quinoa Baby Cereal Stage 1

    07/10 /No Comments

Homemade Quinoa Baby Cereal This smooth and creamy Homemade Quinoa Baby Cereal has an earthy and robust taste and is loaded with protein, fiber, iron and magnesium. It’s great served as a meal itself or mixed with baby’s favorite fruit or vegetable puree.  How to: make a batch of your favorite quinoa – I made this recipe using the trio color blend, but any color of quinoa will work with this recipe. transfer the cooked quinoa into the blender add in a little water, broth or breast milk puree for a minute or so until it is nice and smooth serve straight away, or freeze the cereal into cubes for easy use…

    My Rainbow Baby

    07/07 /1 Comment

As I write about my rainbow baby, it will be the most difficult post I will ever write. I pray it touches you in some way and encourages healing if you have been through this.   Rainbow Baby definition A rainbow baby is a baby born shortly after the loss of a previous baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or death in infancy. This term is given to these special rainbow babies because a rainbow typically follows a storm, giving us hope of what’s to come. First I would like to say I am so sorry for your loss. I know you are probably sick of hearing this by now but…

    Let’s Talk Boobies, Who-ha’s and Well…

    07/05 /2 Comments

I learned in a quick hurry that your body is no longer your own after a baby. You are now the life source for your lil one (if you choose to bf) and if you had sweet images of feeding like I had, WRONG. I pictured it as a sweet bonding moment laying in a field of flowers I suppose. What I got was angry barracuda that attacked like it was the last supper. You also will experience who-ha (lady part) sensations unlike any other and then your first umm pooh happens! Your milk does not come in for a few days, which to me is a cruel joke via…

I love singing to my lil one. This song is so dear to me because of our struggles to get pregnant and have a successful pregnancy. This is very raw and emotional but I believe that is what makes it special.
