Teething Nightmare! It Really Is A Thing!

    10/18 / 2 Comments

So I am going to go ahead and poo poo on the naysayers that say teething stories are made out to be worse than they are! They have no clue and it isn’t just hype! My lil man started teething what seemed to be around four months. His first tooth erupted at seven months and now his second is coming in a month later. I have been bit, dealt with swollen gums and flushed cheeks, him not sleeping and severe irritability due to discomfort of his mouth. He is normally a super happy baby but when the teeth are flaring he lets it be known! So things I have done…

    DIY Sensory Play Ideas

    09/23 / 1 Comment

Sensory Bottles: These do not need to be complicated. They can contain colored water, sand, beans or popcorn kernels. Think about the different sounds, weights and visual stimulation the  bottle is when making.   Spaghetti Noodles: Cooked and cooled of course but set baby on a towel or in a tub and let the messy fun begin!  Good ole Pots & Pans: Set baby in the middle and put pots & pans around her. Be prepared for lots of noise!  Bubbles: We have an awesome bubble maker with a fan that generates hundreds of bubbles!  Ice: A container filled with water and ice. Summer months of course. Can also make…

What you will need: Boxes large enough for kids to sit in Black paper plates Construction paper Paint color of choice for boxes aka car, taillights and headlights Glue Paint your boxes and let dry completely. Glue paper plates to sides as wheels. Add taillights in contrasting color from your “car” color. Yogurt Silly Putty

    08/22 / No Comments

I found this on smartschoolhouse.com. They have a YouTube page as well if you prefer a video how to. Ingredients: Corn starch Yogurt (we used strawberry yogurt). Make sure it’s a yogurt without chunks of fruit. Directions: Mix together 1 cup of yogurt and 3/4 cups of corn starch When the mixture is no longer sticky, pick it up and roll the putty into a ball (to further mix the yogurt and corn starch) If it’s too sticky, sprinkle in additional corn starch. If it’s too dry, add a bit more yogurt   It’s so soft and addicting to play with. Plus it smells pretty good too! A little soap…

So we started solids a few weeks ago and me being me was tickled about it! I have Pinned homemade baby food recipes as if it were my job so getting the chance to make them was exciting! Wait, What? Boobies Aren’t For Feeding?

    07/31 / 5 Comments

Imagine with me if you will a perfect weather day in the mountains. You are sitting at a lil picnic table with your hubby and almost six month old enjoying the day. Then you overhear “That s*it right there shouldn’t be allowed!” Now you might think I was smoking weed, drinking in public, vandalizing something well you get the picture but I wasn’t. I was feeding my son! You see he still breastfeed’s and while I bring a bottle on trips for the car for emergency purposes, I still breastfeed when not driving etc. I of course ignored the ignorant comment and continued on with feeding my baby. The real…

    Mama Bear Is Strong

    07/25 / No Comments

So the family was out at our local outdoor store this weekend and I apparently showed my mama bear instinct a bit too harsh (if there is a thing). One of the employees walked up to us and asked if we needed anything and bee-lined to Coop. She grabbed his hand and I immediately said “Please don’t touch him. He is little yet and has not been vaccinated”. She apologized and said she should not have just reached out and grabbed him. When she walked away my hubby looked at me with shock and said ” Wow that was the first time I have seen you go full on mom…

Why Your Parenting Meme May Be Hurtful

    07/21 / 1 Comment

I thank God I have been given the opportunity to lose sleep, be peed on, spit-up on, pooped on, kicked while trying to sleep, given up wine/beer and can’t wait to experience a full blown temper tantrum, hearing mom a million times, walking behind a lil one cleaning up after them only for another mess to follow, be late because he doesn’t want to get ready, asks a million questions, have zero time to myself because a toddler is following me, be interrupted a million times and a list of other things that go along with being a mama. You see we worked and prayed hard for this child and…

    Post Pregnancy Hair Loss

    07/13 / 1 Comment

Remember pregnancy hair? It was amazing! Like model material with the crazy amount of volume and shine! Yeah I have pictures to remind me but let’s talk about post-baby hair! Another thing no one tells you about! So about three months after I delivered I started shedding. I use the word shedding because I felt like a Siberian husky blowing their coat. Look that one up if you don’t understand. I was literally losing hair everywhere. The bed, shower, blow drying you name it. This wonderful phenomenon is the resting/shedding phase and normally take about three months for the hair to shed out. The hormones during pregnancy which promoted hair…
