Not My Childhood, How My Parents Have Made Me A Better Parent.

    07/13 /3 Comments

Childhood looks vastly different for each of us. Charles Dickens said, “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times.” Parenting is the easiest and the toughest job. Easy because it works on mutual love and instinctual care but tough because a single mistake can cause lifelong scars. With that said, these are things that my child will never understand: Childhood Sexual Abuse I am a product of sexual abuse that started at a very young age until I was 13 years old. I fortunately have a powerful God that kept me from becoming a statistic. I used it to make me an independent and strong person and…

Disney World Is Celebrating Its 50th Anniversary By Giving Away Free Trips!

    06/30 /No Comments

Disney World, the happiest place on earth and not just for little kids! We took our son for his 3rd birthday which was also 2 days prior to the park closing due to COVID. My husband did not understand Disney “Magic” until we went to Good Morning Breakfast with Goofy and His Pals! When Coopers eyes lit up and he was so incredibly happy because he could see his favorite characters, he got it. It was truly a magical moment and will always cherish our time. We are taking Coop back for his 5th birthday but that is another post! So on to Disney’s 50th and how you can enter…

Censored By My “Peers” Of The Writing World

    04/21 /No Comments

Hypocrite: One who assumes a false appearance; one who feigns to be what he is not, or to feel or believe what he does not actually feel or believe; especially, a false pretender to virtue or piety. This word has been what I have discovered in the group, Her View From Home Team, that I once was part of to be. It was all rainbows and puppy dogs until you have a matter of difference in opinion or a voice that does not align with the rhetoric. I suppose had I put hearts as a comment vs facts I would still be part of the group. One of the owners…

    Easy Homemade Crepes

    04/05 /No Comments

Crepes are a type of very thin pancake and I absolutely love making them! My favorite variety is with Nutella, Strawberries and Bananas! You can fill them how you like however and make them savory or sweet! I do not have a Crepe pan but I use my coated cast iron and they turn out fabulous! These are insanely versatile and are a great dish for any meal.   Video Below: Crepes With Nutella Hope y’all enjoy these as much as my household does!

    To the mom/woman that ______, I don’t See you.

    03/05 /1 Comment

To the mom/woman that ______, I don’t See you So many titles these days that have “I See You” and this may make me a bit unpopular but, I don’t See you. I don’t See the struggles you face with depression or anxiety every day because of your situation. I don’t See the difficulties of having a child with special needs. I don’t See the woman that has spent countless hours injecting herself with a cocktail of meds and praying this time will be her miracle and conceive. I don’t See the mama that is with the love of her life in the NICU, praying that she will get to…

    Pirate Themed Birthday Party

    02/18 /4 Comments

I had no idea this would be one of the most fun party’s to plan and decorate for! My little one is into pirates so it only seemed fitting to have a  pirate themed birthday party. We had his party at an indoor trampoline park and the kiddos had so much fun! Enough of that though here is the details for decorating and the cupcakes/ cake. Since COVID is still a concern I had an individual cake made for him and made cupcakes for everyone else so he could still blow out his candles. Thank God for ETSY and the talented people on there! I have link backs to everything.…

Are We Practicing Grace, Love & Forgiveness As Jesus Would?

    02/04 /No Comments

My kiddo has found a new show that he adores and I am on board as well as it teaches great life principles and lessons. The show is Superbook. It is 2 children and their robot that are transported in time by “Superbook” to the biblical era. They are always transported into a point that teaches them something that they are experiencing in real time. We have watched a dozen or so episodes now and not only is my child learning, I am learning. How am I learning you ask, I will tell you. Last year I wrote a piece “Why I Will Not Have A Conversation About Race With…

What Lane Are You Living In?

    10/29 /2 Comments

I live in the Atlanta area and I am sure that most of you have heard of our traffic nightmares and the different roads here. We have a few highways that we joke about referring to “speed limits” or the lack thereof. I will explain how one of them are and that highway is 400. You have several lanes including the shoulder during rush hour. Rush hour is all day of course and not one span of hours in particular. Anyhow I digress. The far left lane is the “Bat Out Of Hell Super Speeder” lane as I like to call it. I am sure there is a speed limit…
