Send Your Vacation Soaring With These Skyline Views Of Atlanta

Atlanta’s skyline is one of the city’s most notable icons, famed for its film appearances and generally striking views. Visitors to the city should enjoy that breathtaking sight as often as possible during their trip, and there are plenty of ways to do precisely that.

Keep on reading to find out how your Atlanta trip can reach new heights when you make time for the following striking skyline vantage points.

Jackson Street Bridge

Many people will recognize Atlanta’s Jackson Street Bridge from its role in the first season of The Walking Dead. Luckily, this tourist hotspot looks far less apocalyptic in real life and enjoys such striking skyline views that it’s become a popular spot for tourist selfies and engagement shoots alike. Known by some as the ‘quintessential Atlanta view’, this swing bridge looks down over Atlanta’s Downtown and is a great spot for nighttime or daytime viewing.

There’s also usually plenty of free parking on the bridge itself, meaning you can easily drive up and enjoy the view at a moment’s notice. Whether you make this a major focus of your stay or simply swing by here on your way to another Atlanta location, you’re sure to enjoy the sights on offer.

Stone Mountain

Sitting at 1,686 feet above sea level, Stone Mountain is the world’s largest piece of exposed granite. This location now features an impressive confederate carving and is a mere half an hour’s drive outside of Atlanta itself. While Stone Mountain isn’t exactly the most stunning sight to behold, this granite monolith is located within the 3,200 acres of beautiful Stone Mountain Park scenery. And that isn’t even the best thing about it.

For visitors willing to embark on the 2-mile round trip required to peak Stone Mountain (or those who simply take a gondola ride up!), some of Atlanta’s best possible views lie in wait and stretch as far as roughly 60 miles on a clear day. Tourists can particularly benefit from visiting at sunrise or sunset when panoramic views reveal not only Atlanta’s skyline but also the North Georgia mountains and the Appalachian Mountains. One thing’s sure – you’ll want to make sure you pack your camera for this one!

Rooftop Dining

As is only natural for a city with such a great skyline, Atlanta makes the most of itself with some great rooftop locations for tourists to enjoy. Atlanta restaurants like Moonlight at FORTH Hotel provide a fantastic backdrop to your evening drinks. Here, you can enjoy clear views of both Atlanta’s skyline and the historic Fourth Ward Park.

If you’re keen to crawl the city’s bars and view the skyline from all angles, you could also hit up rooftop locations like SkyLounge and St. Julep. Equally, a trip to 9 Mile Station in Ponce City Market could see you sipping to the skyline amidst a great day of shopping fun.

Pay Atlanta’s skyline the attention it deserves by making time for these sky-high destinations during your next trip.
