Homemade Pizza Dough

Hands down my favorite pizza dough recipe! I use my Cuisinart stand mixer and in a few short hours have perfect pizza dough!
Cuisine Italian
Prep Time 1 hour 30 minutes
Cook Time 18 minutes
Servings 12

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Warm Water used for yeast
  • 1 tsp Granulated Sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 3 cups All Purpose Flour additional for rolling dough
  • 1 1/2 tsp Kosher Salt
  • 1 tbl Extra Virgin Olive Oil

Instructions

  • In stand mixer mixing bowl stir together the warm water, sugar & yeast. Attach your dough hook and let stand until the mixture is foamy, about 10 minutes.
While the yeast is proofing, combine flour, and salt in a separate mixing bowl.
Once the yeast is foamy, add the flour/salt mixture & olive oil to the bowl and turn on mixer to about speed 3 until dough forms a ball and cleans sides of mixing bowl. Takes about 10 minutes or so for mine to form.
Once you have a dough ball, continue to knead for about another 4 minutes. Dough should be smooth & spring back when touched. If too wet add a small amount of flour until smooth. If too dry add a small amount of water until smooth.
Cover bowl with plastic wrap and let rise until doubled in volume, at least an hour.
    Preheat your oven to 425˚
Now the fun part! I separate dough and  roll out to the size of my pizza pan. I normally have enough to either make Coop a small personal pizza or I make garlic knots.
Top with your favorite sauce! I haven't made a homemade yet but give me time. I do like Classico's Pizza Sauce and is my go to!
Now the cheese! I use a blend of fresh Parmigiana (light layer because it is a strong cheese) & Mozzarella. Keep in mind the more cheese the greasier your pizza will be. Once I have a nice layer of cheese it is time for Pepperoni, my family's favorite so I make sure I have extra!
Sprinkle a little more cheese on top!
The toppings are an endless mix so add whatever your family enjoys!
Bake at 425 for 12-15 minutes or until cooked through.
For an even crispier bottom crust, slide the pizza directly onto the oven rack for the last two minutes of baking time.
